Stacking The Shelves {#1}

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I love reading just as much as I love writing so I thought this would be a great thing to participate in on a weekly basis!

So every Saturday I will have a list of books that I have discovered for that week. I read in all genres and I read a lot of self-help books so you'll get a mix of books on my list.

To start things off these are the books that I either bought or started reading this week:

Sweet Treats: Diamond & Ryder's First Kiss Scene

Hey Peeps!

So I'm putting the finishing touches on my newest novella, One Man's Trash featuring Diamond Anderson and Ryder Gillian. It will be released shortly :-)

I wanted to give you a sweet treat today! Here's Diamond and Ryder's first kiss scene:

Ryder opened the passenger side door and helped Diamond to her feet. He closed the door and started toward her house. She stood still. “You coming?” he asked. He held out his hand. She put her hand in his and followed him to her front door. Her tummy was in knots. At dinner she wasn’t nervous. She was carefree. She was Diamond. Now was a different story. This was when the guy kissed the girl after their date. Normally. But would this guy kiss this girl? It wasn’t technically a date after all.

Just because he called her beautiful didn’t mean he wanted to date her. Or kiss her. They stood underneath the porch light. “Thanks for everything. I enjoyed dinner.”

“This has been the best night I’ve had since I got out. Thank you.”

“Well okay.” She stretched out her arms to hug him. They embraced. She inhaled his scent. A mixture of aftershave and sweat filled her nostrils. Was it possible for your nose to orgasm? Ryder pulled back, keeping her body close to his. She looked into his emerald eyes then down at his lips and back up to his eyes, giving him the green light to kiss her.

Ryder pressed his lips against hers. He’d read the signs. Thank God. She closed her eyes and fell deeper into his kiss. His mouth took over hers. Passionate. Hot. Wet. All the things a great kiss should be. Diamond fingered his hair and pressed her body hard against his. Any harder and she would’ve melted inside of him. She could barely breathe but she didn’t want to stop. She wanted her fairy tale night to last a little longer.

Ryder broke free from the kiss. “Diamond.” He looked at her. Desire filled his eyes. “It’s been a long time since I’ve kissed a woman. I think we should stop right here. I don’t know how much longer I can be a perfect gentleman.”

Screwed out of a job promotion, aspiring songwriter Diamond Anderson moves to New York in search of fame and fortune. Instead she falls into a whirlwind love affair with gorgeous JT Simons, sacrificing everything to support his career, only to be betrayed again. Time is running out for Diamond, her life, her job, her future are on the line. There's only one person that can save her from herself. Ryder Gillian. A man who walked out of her life five years ago.

Teaser Tuesdays!!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers from Hopeless by Colleen Hoover:

"He releases his grip on my hands so he can lower his mouth closer to my chest."

"I twist my body beneath his, hoping he'll get the hint that I'm attempting to direct his hand to keep going wherever it wants to go."

Book Description:

How do you survive the internship from hell?

Don't fall in love.

Ivy thought being a reporter-in-training at the Independent Gazette would be her dream summer job. Little did she know, interviewing Eric, a landscaper with a heart of gold, would derail her plans. It turns out Ivy's boss, Lauren, has been eying his chiseled physique for quite some time.

But at twenty-four, Eric already has a tragic past, one that he is still reeling from. Even though his ordeal turned him into some sort of local celebrity, it's been a while since he's shared his bed with anyone. When he comes to Ivy's rescue out of the blue, it's not long before the two of them start seeing each other behind Lauren's back. When they get caught, Ivy's journey toward a college degree is jeopardized and her relationship with Eric is severely put to the test.

Career versus love? In the end, a shocking turn of events provides Ivy with a revelation she never saw coming.

If only I were open to the possibility of romance, but I’m not. There’s no way I can be. There are circumstances that can’t be wished away or ignored. My heart’s not ready—not yet. And while this absolutely gorgeous girl has wandered into my life, I’m not going to act on it. It’s too soon.

I stride into my shop, gently placing her on the counter. Her feet are bleeding and she looks like she could use a drink of water. She’s covered in dust from the road but she looks adorable sitting there. I don’t know what it’s like to be in a scenario like this with a girl. I’m used to things being straightforward and laid out before me. This looks like something I could get easily lost in if I’m not careful.

We still haven’t said a word to each other, and I hate to break the silence but it can’t be avoided. “Rest here a minute. I’ll be right back.”

Her hand lingers on my upper arm, her thumb massaging by bicep. I exhale heavily, trying desperately to clear my head. Her touch is stirring things inside me I haven’t experienced in quite some time. Emotions I never thought I’d feel again. “Thank you,” she whispers, her eyes never leaving mine.

“No problem,” I try to say as casually as possible. She’s looking at me like I’m her knight in shining armor and I don’t want her to get the wrong idea. I can’t go down that road again. I just can’t. My soul still isn’t fully healed from the last time. I can’t trust myself in these kinds of situations. I need to back away as gracefully as I can.

Hey Lovelies!!

I just want to wish y'all a beautiful and safe Happy 4th of July!!

I hope it's a blessed day for everyone!

If you are in the mood for some quick Holiday Reading....I've listed two books with a 4th of July theme that you may enjoy!

Take it easy lovelies!

As always....

Stay Blessed....Stay Tuned

A little romance from my fellow author friend, T.J. Honey:

A 4th of July to Remember. Book One (A 4th of July to Remember, Maddie and Ronnie)

Maddie is visiting her aunt for the 4th of July celebration in Kennewick, Washington. A freak accident at the party throws her into the arms of a boy who seven years before tried to seduce her in her aunt's boathouse on the river. She discovers a whole new set of Fireworks exploding in her world along with more questions than answers. Is Ronnie the soft spoken boy he appears to be now, or is there still a bad boy lurking behind his gentle manner? What is her best friend Laura’s secret? Will she ever feel safe?

A romance with steamy sexual content. No BDSM or violence.

Here's another romance book by Margaret Lake:

Fireworks (Twelve Months of Romance - July)

(sequel to April Showers and May Flowers)

Every year, Connie takes two weeks off from work, hoping to find adventure or at least something she’s good at. She’s tried skiing, she’s tried sailboarding, she’s even tried white-water rafting and all she’s succeeded in doing was making a fool of herself. Now she hopes she’ll find what she’s been looking for at the dude ranch. But when she gets off the plane, she finds the man who’s been stalking her at home is headed for the same ranch.

Barry was just as shocked to see Connie as she was to see him. In fact, he was hoping this trip would help him forget that the woman he loved couldn’t stand the sight of him. Now she was here, at the ranch he’d called his second home since he was a kid, breaking his heart all over again.
